Surakarta, Central Java – Babinsa Sudiroprajan Subdistrict Koramil 04 Jebres Kodim 0735 Surakarta Sertu Watono and Koptu Devid S monitoring Social Service Activities distributing 10 tons of free rice to residents around the Tien Kok Sie temple Jl. RE. Martadinata No.12, Sudiroprajan, Jebres District, Sunday (16/02/2025).
Sertu Watono said that in order to close the 2575 Kongzili Chinese New Year celebration, Tien Kok Sie Temple held a social service distributing free rice, 10 tons of which were distributed to 2000 residents around Tien Kok Sie Temple.
Meanwhile, the head of the Tien Kok Sie Temple, Sumantri Dana Waluya, said “every community gets 5 kilograms of rice per person, we will distribute it to residents around the temple, pedicab drivers, car drivers, parking attendants, rubbish cleaners and security guards at Pasar Gede.
After that we will distribute it to scavengers who don’t have ID cards and residents who don’t get coupons,” said Sumantri. Furthermore, Sumantri explained that the Confucian religion teaches the nature of tepa salira.
Tepa salira is a Javanese philosophy of life that has deep meaning. This philosophy not only teaches humans to respect each other, but also leads them to have empathy with other people’s difficulties.
