PIDIE JAYA, April 20, 2025 — The flyover located in the center of Pidie Jaya Regency has now become a new favorite for residents after being beautified with colorful LED light installations. Every night, from 18.30 WIB until midnight, this bridge is transformed into a favorite destination for residents to enjoy the colorful night atmosphere.
Since being decorated with decorative lighting, thousands of residents have come, especially on weekends. They come not only to relax, but also to take selfies, create social media content, or just enjoy the night breeze with their families.
“Now this bridge is a favorite place for families. The lights are good, the children are also happy. This is free but fun entertainment,” said Zulfikar (41), a resident of Meureudu.
Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Service of Pidie Jaya Regency, Ir. Faizal explained that the installation of these lights is part of the city planning program that aims to beautify public spaces and make them comfortable places for social interaction.
“We want this bridge to not only be a connecting route, but also as a city icon that can be enjoyed by the public,” said Faizal.
He added that the lights used are energy-saving LEDs, so they do not have a big impact on local electricity consumption.
The presence of these lights also has a positive effect on small business actors. A number of food and soft drink vendors have begun to enliven the area around the bridge.
“Alhamdulillah, since it’s been this busy, my merchandise has sold out quickly. Usually it’s quiet at night, now it can even open until late at night,” said Nuraini, a boiled corn seller.
Residents also hope that the government will continue to provide facilities around the bridge, such as seating, a small park, trash bins, and additional lighting.
“We hope that this place remains well-maintained and safe for children. If possible, add cleaning staff,” said Linda (34), a visitor from Trienggadeng.
With these changes, the Pidie Jaya flyover not only functions as a transportation infrastructure, but also becomes a lively public space and a source of pride for the local community
